See document source for the formulas used in the calculations. The widths given by the equations refer to the overall width of the arrow shaft plus its fletchings. The fletch gap refers to the angular distance between the bottom fletchings and should give some indication whether a launcher blade of a specific width would clear. Any helical or offset fletching will reduce the effective fletch gap.
